300 MBPS connection doubt
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:07:24 PM »

Guys,

My DIR-655 1.33NA setup is:

(i have already read the fixed post)

Connection Type :DHCP Client
QoS Engine :Inactive
Cable Status :Connected
Network Status :Established
Advanced DNS :Disabled
DHCP Server :Enabled
802.11 Mode :Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g
Channel Width :40MHz
Channel :11
Secondary Channel :7
WISH :Inactive
Wi-Fi Protected Setup :Disabled

Unicasting: ON
MTU = 1500

My doubt about the connection is that Windows 7 Wireless Network Status shows "Connection Speed =  300 MBPS", however, the Wireless Status at DIR-655 shows variable connection speed from 54 to 260 MBPS depending on the traffic demand.

Is that normal or should it display 300 Mbps always?

Hi rcoloma,

That is normal. The advertised speed is done under Ideal testing, not regular home testing.
