I have a D-Link DGL-4300 That I've had for like 4-5 years. I was wondering if I needed to upgrade that to get faster internet connections for gameing. My ISP is sopose to give 12 mb's download and 1 MB upload, But when I run a internet test on my PS3 or computer I usally set at 2-3 MB upload and 500KB upload. The fastest speed they have in my area is 20MB DL and 2 MB UL. So would getting a newer router and upgrading my internet be better for gaming on PS3 and computer. Mediacom my ISP said that even if I upgraded I wouldn't notice the difference but I know on gaming the faster your DL and UP speed's are the faster packets are sent from the server to you and ULed so your actions register faster. So respond and tell me what you guys think.
I think mediacom is s*** in this area lol but Its the only cable company we have in springfield MO
