Please ignore- Managed to Fix the Problem
« on: September 26, 2010, 02:51:36 PM »

I bought a DIR-615 for my new apartment (connected to a Comcast cable modem). My internet is working fine and the ports on the 615 are alive.

However, when I try to connect my Buffalo NAS, it doesn't show up. The DIR-615 appears as part my network infrastructure in Windows 7, but there's no sign of a drive attached. If I try to map a drive, I can't find the drive if I browse to look for it.

I've done the obvious stuff, like check the drive is alive (and the cable okay) by plugging it directly in to my computer. Works fine, as it did when I plugged it in to the router (not sure what model) at the temporary apartment that my company put me up in for a month.

I presume that there's something in the DIR-615 set-up that need changing from the default. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advanced!

Shows up in "NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS"

One other thing, the drive shows up under "NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS" at the bottom of "Network Settings". It has an IP address assigned to it.

Out of desperation, I enabled "NetBIOS announcement" and "Learn NetBIOS from WAN" and now the drive (and a USB attached to the back of the NAS) shows up!
