I'm using my DIR-655 as a passthrough, to add wireless access to my network. Port 1 is connected directy to a port on my main DHCP router. I have DHCP turned off in the 655. I setup all the wireless settings so that wireless devices around the house can connect. Ports 2, 3 and 4 are wired to other network devices. Everything running off the 655 gets their DHCP address from the main DHCP router. This setup has been working fine since March. Once I had it setup the way I wanted, I did a backup of the configuration.
Over the weekend, I wanted to go into the 655 to check some of the wireless settings. I used to be able to do this with no problem. I have the 655 set to use 192.168.0.2. When I try to access that address, either from a computer on the network, or via a laptop plugged directly into a port on the 655, it won't connect. Using Firefox, I get "Unable to connect", and when I ping it, "Request timed out".
If I do a reset on the router, I can access it just fine at the default address 192.168.0.1. I then restore the backup mentioned above and connect to 192.168.0.2. However, after a couple of minutes, I lose the connection and can't connect again unless I go through the reset procedure.
Any ideas what's going on here?
Thanks!
