Has anyone successfully linked a DLS2740B to DAP 1522 ?

DLS 2740 been running sweet for 12 months in wireless. I can internet using my iPad and my laptop.  I use WPA2-PSK and auto channels
Using the ideas in this forum I have managed to get into the DAP1522 and set it to what I thought would work.
If I disable wireless in the laptop and cable connect to the 1522, I can find a local network but no internet access. Sounds to me like no link between the 2 devices.
I thought this would be easy as both devices support WPS - silly me!   Any one successfully link these two?  All ideas gratefully welcome.
