DIR-855 Wireless Speed after Firmware 1.23NA

I just received my new DIR-855 and was having wireless connectivity issues running Windows 7 Pro. My wireless speed would vary between 54 and 130 Mbps but had trouble keeping a constant signal. I updated firmware from 1.21 to 1.23 and now the best I can get is 54 Mbps on the 2.4 GHZ band, and the same on the 5 GHZ.
