hmmm... crap?
« on: November 16, 2010, 04:18:28 PM »

just spent a few hours trying to get this dap-1522 connected to my DIR-825 so I can get xbox and blu-ray player updates in another room.

what a total pain in the butt.   I can connect to the device via lan but no wireless connection of any kind.   when setting it up, it only finds the 2.4 signal in the site survey (no 5g) and while it correctly finds channel 6 on the survey, and uses that initially,  it will change it to 36 on the 1522 after saving the settings.   worse than that, when looking at the status tab it shows that it is using channel 1 for the wireless channel.

the buttons that link them together don't work (i would think it would be a no brainer both from the same company).   and the 1522 won't reset using the reset button.

i also couldn't update the firmware (on 1.10)   it says the new one (that I got from the dlink site) is "not an image".

not impressed.

Yes.  The device works, but it sounds like the advanced features need some improvement.  I'm going to read my DIR825 manual, and then DAP1522 manual to figure out if it's going to work the way I want it to. ???
