Blinking Off Button

HI I have the DNS-323, F/W ver. 1.08, H/W ver C1.
What happen i had a power outage when it came back on the off button blinks all the time and Network light blinks .

I had the D-link on a surge and pike protector strip. A GOOD ONE. I have been bitten once before and i learn my lesson to buy a good strip.

I have tried holding the OFF button for 15 or 20 seconds and it will not turn off. I have pushed the reset button and it will not reset.

I have tried to access it by the web interface and the sharecenter. With and without the 2 drives install. I had the box set to a local ip address and now it does not show up at all. I have tried finding it on the network at other ip address . All with no luck.

SO.. i came here hoping someone would tell me that i do not have a new doorstop.

Did you try unplugging the power cable?

Yes.. unplugged it.. then replugged.. then unplugged and left it off for a couple hours.. Also left it on over night to see if it was tring to refresh itself

Based on your initial post regarding taking the drives out and attempting a boot-up it sounds like the power outage may have in fact bricked your unit. If the power light does not stop blinking then it will never connect to your network (that does not come up until after the unit has finished booting aka the light stop blinking).

Reset will not work at that stage as reset needs the unit to be in a booted state to function.

Is it one of those power strips that only has certain 'parts' of the strip that are protected? Have you tried with a single drive as well? Perhaps a different drive than the two that were already in it? Unfortunately if it doesn't come up even without drives then the hopes of it recovering a slim. There is a wiki site that assists in unbricking units but it does require certain hardware and is not something D-link can support. If you are under warranty I would suggest using it, if not like I stated there are alternative means.
