Scheduled download in DNS-323, file times not perserved.
« on: December 24, 2010, 12:02:44 AM »

I wonder if dlink is using rsync to do the "Scheduled download's" option.  If they are I wish they would have given an option to include the "-t" function to preserve the file times/dates.  Last night I tried to make a backup from Volume_1 onto Volume_2.  It took a long time and worked great until I realized it did not keep the file times/dates.

I just spent a lot of time installing fun_plug so I could rsync to preserve the file times/dates.  I backup a lot of photo's, videos, music, etc.  It comes in handy knowing when the file was created.

"Scheduled download's" takes the about the same amount of time as rsync.  This leads me to believe they are using rsync.

The rsync command isn't available by default, I tried using it before I installed Fonz Fun Plug, only then was it available. So I don't know what they are using for that.
