Connects to network, but not internet (ISP only supports IPv4)
« on: December 26, 2010, 06:46:59 PM »

Got a DIR-615 for Christmas, and set it up today. (Hardware = E3, Firmware = 5.10)
Used the setup wizard, and things seemed to go smoothly.
My PC runs Win XP (this is the machine used for setup), it has a wired connection
to the router.
Three wirelesss devices (iPhone, iPod touch, laptop running Win 7) seem to be connected to the
router with no issues, except...

they won't connect to the internet. I found out my ISP does not support IPv6 (they only
support IPv4). I'm guessing this is the issue, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

I would setup static IP addresses for all of your devices and try again. IPv6 is not the issue. IPv6 is just a new addressing system that has not been deployed until all ISP get there heads out of there keasters and get it set up and going. Then all OEM mfrs of routers will need have implement this into there HW. Can't say if they will implement into products already on the market or you'd have to buy something new. Regardless, check on doing a Static IP for all devices and see what you get. Then set your wireless mode to G only at 2.4GHz with out a password for testing. Check connectivity. Then set up a password using mixed TPIK and AES if thats available. Check connections again.
