Good afternoon,
   Sorry if I'm posting in the the place. I'm not even sure how to explain what I want to accomplish. A friend of mine has High speed modem connected to a d-link router. I connected a DS-2400 radio transceiver to his LAN port on his router[AP]. I installed another DS-2400 at my house approximately 1600 feet away. I do have a good signal and marginally good download speed. It's certainly better than dial up. A lot of trees obstruct a clear line of site. I would like to install my DIR-655 at home on my system so I can have access through out my house. My knowledge about configuring the router is limited. What I have is 2-DS-2400 transceivers acting as a bridge connected to my friends router and I would like to install another router at my place or am I using the wrong equipment to do this?

1600 feet is a good distance. I don't think these routers are good unless you can get an antenna outside and in direct line of site between them, then you might be able to use the 5Ghz band using N only. Single mode G 2.4Ghz seems to work the best for doing the distance. Walls and such interfere with this back and attenuate the 5Ghz frequency. I presume your trying to bridge your 655 router to your buddies router using the on board WiFi? Suppose it's too far to bury LAN cable?

BTW, who makes those DS_2400 xcvrs?
