Iphone Issues

I am in the military and stationed in Afghanistan right now.  I got the DIR 601 to use in my room.  My laptop can connect wirelessly but my Iphone is having issues.  My iphone sees the wireless networks and connects but it does not access the internet.  I shows full strength.  I have googled this issue and tried a lot of the suggested fixes but I still can't access the internet after joining the network.  I upgraded the IOS to 4.2.  Anyone else seen this problem before.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Also, I am not that tech savy so if you have an answer please break it down to the novice level.

Good luck with that.  Apple is denying anything is wrong but i have yet to figure it out.  You can try to call support but they will just blame the router for being incompatible. The funny thing is that the only one that seems to be compatible is a Apple brand router. Heh.
