Streaming Xbox 360 Error Code
« on: March 15, 2010, 06:05:59 PM »

I have been doing some research before posting here and I know this has been reported for the DNS-323.

I have my DNS-321 set up as a UPNP server streaming my movies and show to my xbox 360.  If I try to stream TV shows, I get the following error on the xbox 360: 69-c00d36be.

I have read the error message is because the absolute file path and name is longer than 70 characters.  Is there a fix for this issue or will there be a fix for this issue?

I know the files are ok.  They play fine off a a memory stick that was copied off the server.

Are you sure this is not a limitation in XBox since the Xbox is displaying this message?

I have the exact same issue and it is definetly a flaw of the UPnP software used by the DNS-323 and should be relatively easy to fix.

The xbox does have a limitation on length files names of aprox. 70 chars. However, the UPnP server should respect this. Furthermore, streaming the same exact file(s) from a Windows 7 machine setup as an Xbox Media Extender works perfectly, while they do not work on the DNS-323.

Unfortunately, I bought my DNS-323 for exactly this reason and if it cannot perform this basic task I will have to return it for a product that does.  To add to the disapointment browsing files on the XBOX 360 over UPnP and the DNS-323 is extremely slow.
