DAP-1522 Local access only - AP mode
« on: December 24, 2009, 01:09:44 PM »

I have been messing with the unit to see if I could get it to stop disconnecting from the AP. Now when I connect to it, it only connects as Local, no internet. I have tried what seems to be everything to get it to connect properly, with no results.

Hardwired to router. setup as N only, 5ghz, auto channel select. AP has static IP from DGL 4300 router. No security setup needed. Running 1.21 firmware (I did try others with same issues) No other settings used, just need N access point.

can someone help out?
Is it a router setting that is not allowing it out to the internet?

After MANY hours of trying different things, I got it to work and keep connection. At first I thought it was the channel of the wireless. When i took it off auto channel and selected different channels it would work for a bit and then die. I tried a multitude of combinations. The final trick, and i guess the problem the whole time, was the wireless driver in the laptop. I had tried different drivers with the same results. Today i decided to start WAY back at the beginning of the drivers, dated 2/25/07 for my Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. It was probably the first driver out for my HP dv9000.
It is now connected at full speed and has not dropped at all. Here i was blaming the AP and it was the laptop the whole time. Go figure....
