INTERNET with ICS PC with COMPLETE ACCESS REQUIRD
« on: December 25, 2010, 11:38:41 PM »

My router is D-Link DIR-615. Here is the situation:
Router = 4 lan ports, 1 internet port, dhcp enabled, 192.168.0.1 IP address , subnet 255.255.255.0
1 PC (192.168.137.1, 255.255.255.0) with ICS turned on for internet sharing is connected to the internet port so all the devices can easily use the internet as the router sees the ICS PC as an internet connection
The issue here is that the router doec not allow any other type of connection to the ICS PC like my file server, video and music streaming, windows media center connection etc of that ICS PC with other devices like Laptop, XBOX 260 etc over LAN and WiFi as router sees ICS PC as another subnet and cant make it the same subnet as the router disabels internet then.
How to fix it while keeping DHCP of router enabled for auto config of devices for internet connection?

Did you ever receive a response?

I have a similar issue and would like to know how to correct the issues.

I'm having intermittent connection issues with my Clear WiMax connection going through my desktop, using an Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) connection and my D-Link DIR 601 Wireless N 150 Home WiFi router.

I was able to add Clear’s DNS server addresses, and a WEP Key, and connect, as well as use a remote notebook and my iPad, for a period of time.

After I powered off the devices, I was no longer able to connect remotely.

I reset the DIR-601 back to factory settings, and followed my previous installation steps – after several attempts of not getting connected, I disabled the WEB Key to determine if I could at least connect to the Internet. I couldn't even after rebooting the ICS device, router, and each remote computer.

I can see the DIR-6001 on my remote computers, as well as connect to the router, but I am not able to connect to the Internet. So I know I have LAN/HAN access.

One interesting thing that I did notice, is that I am not longer able access my router (192.168.0.1) from my desktop, but from my remote computers.

Any thoughts on what I need to do?

Thanks
