I have just purchased a DIR-655 A3. Originally had firmware 1.11, but immediately updated to 1.20. Was able to setup home network, both wireless (WPA2 AES). and wired. This purchase was an "upgrade" from a DI-614+ (firmware 2.34). The DI-614+ works just fine with the exception that it is 802.11b only so the speed is lacking in the wireless area.
The issue that I am having with the DIR-655 is that my wired speed is approximately 30% slower than the DI-614+. It is almost like there is some type of lag occurring in the DIR-655. Requests for website "hang" and sometimes this happens for 30 secs - 1 min. Loading of webpages is also degraded. The wireless seems to be working fine, 130 Mbps, but it is also experiencing the same level of lag or worse.
Wireless adapter and NIC are both up-to-date driver-wise.
Hard to describe this issue without actually seeing it. My main concern right now is that DIR-655 is definitely slower than the DI-614+, wired and wireless, with this apparent lag. Is this a firewall issue, SIP, QoS, WISH?? I've seen similar issues posted elsewhere but no real solution.
Background:
Windows XP SP3, Linksys WMP300N Wireless adapter, 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940) NIC.
