DAP-1522 - DIR-655 WPS

Can I use WPS (push button setup) to set up a DAP-1522 (bridge mode) if the SSID of the DIR-655 is hidden?
Also, it has been suggested here that, unlike the Quick Setup Guide says, the DAP-1522 must be wired at the time, true or false?

By standard, WPS will not work with a hidden SSID on the router.   A manual setup is required and works with the f/w 1.21 (and maybe 1.20).

Is not possible to unhide the SSID, do the WPS, then re-hide the SSID?  However, I agree that manual setup is best if one has any understanding of the terminology.

This is how I had to connect mine (SSID hidden as well.)  I have my DAP-1522 set as a Bridge.  I need to check the FW again but I think it was 1.21, considering updating to 1.30 but considering it's in bridge mode and I'll never use as an AP, I'm not really worried about the security hole.

That said, it doesn't seem to ever connect in N, it's always G.  Yet, my laptop and HTPC w/ lower signal strength numbers (as noted from the DIR-655) connect in N.

I can't figure out what's going on.  I've got it's set to pretty much full auto.   The only thing that's a bit different from most peoples setup is I use a Class A Address (DIR-655 is setup at 10.10.10.1 because it's easier for me to remember) and my SSID is hidden.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.   I'm well versed in Networks and their setups, so don't bother dumbing anything down.  If for some reason I don't understand, I'll ask.

Final thoughts, I wanted this setup in order to improve the networking of my Home Theater Equipment (2 TiVo HDs, HTPC, Wii, PS3, AV Receiver) putting these on the Gbit switch (and 2ndary switch) will reduce the overal wireless traffic - HTPC <-> TiVo, PS3, AV Receiver, TiVo <-> TiVo.  I can eliminate the wireless setups for each of these by providing a Wireless bridge to the area.  That said, I still will want to pass data between my Laptop, PC, PSP, Printer, etc and various versions, and I wanted to make it as stable and fast as possible w/o pulling wires (2 story house, modem and router and Home Theater areas of course being in opposite corners and different floors.)
