Repeating the router signal

Hi!
 I have been looking for any solution for how to repeat the signal from a DIR-855, since there seems to be some 11n APs that can run repeat mode. I have been looking into DAP-1353 which seems to be able to work together with the router, even though it is not able to repeat the dual band signal.

Does anyone have any input on this one? Also there seems to be some issue with encryption of the network. As soon as there is any encryption turned on, the DHCP function stops working. This has been the same with different routers but the problem has persisted.

Any input?

The DAP-1353 is able to repeat the 2.4GHz signal but there were a lot of complaints about loosing connection to the internet.
As the DAP-1353 is only designed to repeat another 1353 with the same firmware, there is no guarantee that it will work for you.

Never heard of any problems with encryption and DHCP. This is most likely a problem on client side when you change the encryption.

Which firmware version are you running on your DIR ?
If you use the MAC filter, turn it off - at least for testing.

Okay so let's say that I want to repeat the signal - do you have any other suggestion as for repeating the DIR-855. I don't have the router here at the moment, hence I cannot check the firmware version.

Mac filter i turned off and so I don't think that there should be any problems regarding authentication for the MAC address filtering.

Regarding the DHCP settings I reckon that there has to be some kind of client issue, but I don't have fulll administrative privilegies to the computer in question, so there is a problem.
