dir-655 setup
« on: November 13, 2008, 12:45:08 PM »

I just purchased a d-link dir-655 router. I had an old linksys before.  I am hesitant to start the process of hooking up a new router. I have Comcast Cable with a ARRIS modem & want to use the router for home use.  I have a HP Touchsmart computer w/Vista, a Compaq notebook w/windows xp, a notebook HP Pavillion DV7-1133D/w Vista & an HP Photosmart C7250 printer & Brother HL 2170 printer.  All devices are wireless, therefore I don't want to hook up the router to any computer.  How do I use the router set up cd to install the router?  I am trying to be totally wireless except for the modem to the router.  Any advise?

You'll need to connect at least one PC temporarily to configure the router. Once thats done then you can go completely wireless if you wish.

Assistance for configuring the router can be found here.

Thank you for your advise.  I will proceed and hope  the installation goes without any "glitches".
