I'm having some issues with my DNS-323. I've got a couple 1tb Seagate drives in it mirrored. Or so I thought. I've noticed on and off the past couple weeks, after several months of flawless operation, that lately it's been somewhat inconsistent with responsiveness. Sometimes I'll go to listen to an MP3 on the NAS, or just fire up Explorer to locate a file, and it takes a couple seconds up to 20-30 to get a response. Most of the time it works fine, but this is happening more and more frequently.
I noticed that often in these incidents, only the right drive LED would be blinking. So I checked the status of the NAS and noticed that the "sync time remaining" field now reads "degraded", yet the LED for the left drive remains blue. It just never seems to be in use anymore.
What's the simplest way to have the array rebuilt without losing my data? I'm currently doing a backup just in case anything happens, but would prefer to not have to move everything back and forth if I don't have to. Thanks in advance for your help.
