DGL-4500/PS3 Connection Problem

Hi

I keep getting disconnects while playing COD4. I've tried DMZ but eventually I'll start have disconnection issues with that also.

Currently I have:
SPI disabled
PS3 Static IP address
Port Forwarding to PS3 for PSN TCP 80, 443, 5223, 10070-10080 UDP 3478, 3479, 3658, 10070, 50100
Port Forwarding to PS3 for COD4 TCP 80, 443, 5223 UDP 3074, 3075, 3478, 3658

OK now I have the PS3 in a DMZ. No port forwarding but I do have the PS3 with a static IP address and NO SPI.

All this while playing COD4:

Nice  ;D I was able to play through 3 online games of COD4

NO UPNP...... that's right NO UPNP

The PS3 has poor UPnP implementation. Thats why you're forced to forward the ports.

Sorry to disappoint about the 4500. The UPNP does not work on this model. Even when you forward ports it still does not function properly. It is easy to blame the problem on another program but the prob lies with the 4500. I have tested this with other routers and it is the 4500 that has these severe problems.

The 4500 UPnP implemetation falls directly in line with Microsofts standard. The PS3 has a UPnP issue that falls outside of the MS standard. Other router manufacturers have made allowances for this to work, and we will do the same, but the blame is not with the router, it's with that console.

does this problem still exist? i'm curious if sony has fixed it in one of their many firmware releases since the time of this post (?).
