PS Vita Woes
« on: February 22, 2012, 08:50:48 AM »

If anyone else has the PS Vita, are you all having problems connecting to your DGL-4500? The PS Vita recognizes it, but won't secure an IP address, never connecting to the router. Not sure what the problem is...

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES. Some WiFi devices don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only.

Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

I would research the Mfr of the Vita and see what security modes the device supports. I know some Nintendo devices don't support WPA and only use WEP modes.

I found out the problem, though it actually wasn't with my security setup. I use WPA-Personal (auto mode w/TKIP and AES cipher) setup. I found the problem to be my DHCP IP Address Range! Embarrassingly enough, I remembered that I limited the range to further protect my home network from leechers. I extended the range to include it and voila! The PS Vita seems to work fine with the security setup. Thanks for your reply!!
