uPnP Server video playback problems with firmware 1.06b65
« on: December 28, 2008, 05:21:42 PM »

I purchased the DNS-323 to be a media server to my PS3 and an IO-Data Linkplayer.  With firmware version 1.05 both the PS3 and the Linkplayer played video back fine except for not being able to play files over 4GB correctly.  I decided to try firmware version 1.06b62 beta and this also worked well except that the hard drive never goes to sleep.  I have now loaded firmware version 1.06b65 beta and the PS3 still works correctly, but now the Linkplayer stutters badly when playing video.

Something changed between firmware 1.06b62 and 1.06b65 that caused my Linkplayer to stop playing video correctly.  Is there any way this can be addressed before the final release?

Thank you,
Steve

Also its good practice to reset your unit to defaults and re-configure between major changes. I would suggest a factory reset after uploading official firmware and then a manual click of "refresh" to start.

I updated to the  official 1.06 firmware and reset to the default setting.  The Linkplayer still has playing back the video smoothly.  Just to test, I reloaded the 1.06b62 beta firmware and reset to default setting and the Linkplayer plays video fine.  Something broke after b62.

Thanks,
Steve
