Network Access, Password Always Required Help
« on: February 15, 2011, 12:42:26 PM »

Hi all,

Just received my DNS-323 today w/2-2GB WD HDD.  I am setting it all up and things are going well.  I mirrored both drives into one volume.  I am creating a simple file structure:

Volume_1 (removed)
Volume_1/Public (ALL)
Volume_1/Private (Just me)

When accessing the drive through Windows (7 x64) without any access rights created I had no problem.  I then created the Public share with All Accounts, RW access and Private share with a user I created with RW access.  No when trying to browse anything on the drive, either Public or Private, I am prompted for a password.  Am I missing something?

I figured that if I browse the drive using Windows Explorer I would see the Public share then be prompted for a username and password once I tried to access the Private folder.  That does not seem to be the case.  Any ideas?
