Firmware and old 825
« on: February 08, 2011, 05:34:32 PM »

I have the 825, not the rev B. (wish I had realized there was a newer one before i plunked my money down :( ) It came with 2.02NA installed, on the D-link page though the lasted driver they have listed 1.13NA

So my question is, would it be advisable/and or safe to upgrade to the 2.05NA drivers, even though it is the older model?

if it came with 2.02NA it shouldn't be original one

it should be rev b

you can check from firmware setting page

http://192.168.0.1

it should display  something like this emulator

http://www.support.dlink.com/emulators/dir825_revB/203NA/login.html

note rev b1 on top of the page

Mine shows A1. Does that mean I'm SOL as far as any updates go? The latest F/W 1.13 is over a year old. :(

Is there any problems with the router that warrants thinking of a FW upgrade?
It's recommended that if the router is working for you then FW upgrade should not be applied.

If you are on A1 or the first generation router, V1.13 is the latest.
for Reb B, v2.05 is the latest and this version(s) should not be applied to the Rev A router. I presume the FW will advise you of this should you try to attempt to apply it to the A1 router.
