issues with new firmware
« on: April 03, 2011, 02:08:37 AM »

Updated to firmware to V2 - first off, my admin password was not recognised and the default blank wouldn't work either. Had to 'resert' using the paperclip method.

Next, in putting everytthing back manually to how it should have been, when I got to UnPNP Server, selected enable - it has so far taken 36 hours to 'build the media library' to 86%!

No option to deselect - so just have to wait.
iTunes server doesn't respond when enable selected - selecting 'save' produces a white (blank) page which times out.
Not sure if this is linked to the media library being 'built'

May well go back to V1  - any others had the issue or nay suggestions ?

Hi First Post  ;D

Id really like to be able to update mine, but when i locate the file it says something along the lines of the file being too big??

Do i need to upload the zipped file or unzipped?

The error I get is "Error is 413 - Request Entity too large"

Hey Guys,

I recently upgraded my firmware.

This is what i did:

downloaded firmware
Unzipped it onto location on laptop
logged onto NAS box
pointed NAS box to the location of unzipped firmware on laptop
Upgraded
Took about 10 mins

Dont try and do it remotely (i.e @ work etc), just from inside your network. Maybe even try a network cable plugged into your router...Or better still cross over cable directly into your NAS box if all else fails.

Hope that helps,
Pabs

Well, I went back to V1 and everything returned to how it should be except that the music library in iTunes set against the NAS had every item displayed at least 4 times, sometimes x 7 - though I know that each track is held on the NAS only the once.

Subsequently, re upgraded to V2, and on this occasion, the media library was built in about 30 mins instead of the previous experience of 48 hours.

Only remaining issue is that I am unable to select anything other than 'root' in the iTunes server - any other option gives me an HTTP error code of 500 - "This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying. "

No idea how to get around that but I don't really want the whole of Volume_1 on the iTunes

Ay assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Mick

New firmware installed easily on mine.  Followed the same path as above, piece of cake.
