Admin pages slow and locking up
« on: December 07, 2009, 08:26:23 PM »

I am having issues with my freinds new DIR-825 Rev:B1 Firmware:2.02NA, The admin pages are intermittently slow to load and sometimes wont load until I power cycle the device.  I am using IE8 on vista x64, and have the issue on all pc's on the network.  Is there a work around for this?

Thanks for your help.

i got the same OS and the same problem. no firewall or something like that... i can log in to another router, but only the d-link not working. i think it's something in windows. problem was solved by using another pc. or just try LINUX live cd. it can help.

I find that the pages load quickly when connected via Ethernet.  Slow when connected via Wireless.

the 3 different PC's I used were wired. Same behavior on them all.  Found an old post about this, people report a browser issue and suggest firefox.  Im not switching them to firefox.  Guess I will just have to deal.

The date on this thread is NOT comforting....
I just upgraded from a DIR-615 to a DIR-825 rev:B1 ver: 2.02NA and I have the exact same problem of slow connection through IE8 to the ADMIN pages.
The 615 worked like a charm for 3 years but it's getting slow when everyone is using it at the same time. And since we can see an iPhone4 in our household's near future... I thought upgading to Giga for the wired PCs and Dual Band for everything else was the smart move to make.
Well Internet gets in and out great but those admin pages take so long!... by the time it gets there some times I have to re-enter my password!
I called DLink Support and I was told to switch to Firefox as browser to communicate with the routeur. Like many here I am NOT willing to do that. I've had 2 routers before this one and IE caused no problems whatsoever.
Anyway, does anyone here have a better solution than changing the browser?... or returning the router?  :(
thanks.

I have two new DIR-825's with the latest firmware - and only Windows 7 64-bit.  Both IE8 and IE9 take forever to load the web pages for this device.  Very frustrating.  As others have noted - I have no intentions of loading Firefox on my systems.  I do have Chrome - I will see if that has the same issue.

i loaded other firmware on my router (eu version) and experienced the same problems with the admin pages; updated to the latest eu firmware and now it works flawlessly
maybe upgrade to a more recent fw?
