V1.06 and ups
« on: January 20, 2009, 07:40:41 PM »

Is there a list of ups that have been tested or that do not work with DNS323 ?

I am looking at a APC BE550G-CN

Thanks

Thomas

I'm not aware of any list of supported UPS's - the firmware change list says all except TrippLite.  Plug it in and check the status page, if it's recognized, you'll see the details shown in place of the printer status.

Thanks for the reply FORDEM

I hooked it up and I indeed see the UPS instead of the printer.
When I unplug the AC from the UPS, it shows that it is on battery and the percentage of charge.

I have seen a post that someone adjusted the UPS by connecting it to a computer and using powerchute to adjust it. The only thing that seems to be adjustable in the UPS is the beeper that beeps about very 30 sec.
All other adjustments seem to be held in the powerchute software on the computer, so no control of when the NAS will shutdown.

Next test is to see how long it will last on this UPS and if you can use a USB hub to connect the printer at the same time. I do know that the printer will print in this configuration but I do not know how the UPS will react.

Thomas

The parameters that can be adjusted depend on the UPS itself - you have a BackUPS, maybe the other person had a SmartUPS.
