DVA-G3810... Freakin' D-Link
« on: April 05, 2011, 08:20:52 PM »

So, I had no idea where to post this because all the topics are about DWA or DIR, so if you want to move this post to wherever it belongs, be my guest.

Here's my problem, my DS won't connect to my router, and it is causing a whole lot of frustration.
I tried changing my DS' IP address, blah blah blah, pretty much everything I can think of, and that's suggested on the Nintendo help pages, I've tried. Apparently I can change the TX rate on my router, but I've yet to find out HOW. Any suggestions? Any help?

Anything would be appreciated.
Thanks.

What wireless modes is the router running?
What security mode does the DS support? I heard they only support WEP, most routers have both WEP and WPA settings however WEP isn't the most secure.

Have you set a static IP address for the device in the router then try setting security to none to test to see if the DS will connect?

Try changing the WiFi mode to single mode G.

Let us know.

Do you actually mean the DS? If so perhaps the specs below would be helpful.

Wireless: Built-in 802.11 Wireless Network Connection (802.11b compatible with WEP encryption support only

So there might be some compatibility issues. I would try B only, turn off auto scan, and set the security to WEP 64bit.  If that doesn't work, turn off security and see if it connections. If it does work, try B/G with WEP 64bit, but its going to limit your transfer rate on all computers on your network. WEP is your limiting factor.
