connectivity trouble please help
« on: April 15, 2011, 08:48:35 AM »

Hey guys I have the DGL-4500 and have been using it for a few years without trouble. Recently, it will not connect me to the internet when I set a basic password.

The thing works on default setting(after a hard reset) without any security, but the instant I put any type of WEP or WPA it can't verify the conection.

What is your ISP service? DSL or cable?
What is the ISP Modem? Stand alone or built in router?
How are you connecting to the router? wired or wireless? I presume wireless.
Are you telling the wireless device to connect using the new pw that you set?
I presume the wired connection works?

Well, assuming your data is correct, the issue is with the security. When you say "it can't cerify the connection" could you be more specific? Does it give a error message? And how are you configuring the security? What are you trying to connect?
