Hi all,

First time poster here :)

My Brother-in-law, who lives in Singapore, uses his DCS-2121s (2x) for monitoring his newborn and it works great!

Me and my wife, who lives here in the US, always views those IPcams through my web browser from my PC (firefox 7.1).

I was just wondering if there is a different way to watch those cameras using my computer.  I was looking for a dedicated D-link APP or Program so I don't have to use the browser anymore.

BTW, my brother uses dyndns with his DCS-2121.

Thank you very much!

You may want to take a look at iSpy http://www.ispyconnect.com/. The application has the ability to add an IP camera via the URL/IP address. The website contains a freeware version of the application with an upgrade for purchase to enable more advanced features.

If you decide to try out this application, please post your results.  :)

Hey thanks for your suggestions.

I actually managed to have a video feed but for some reason I can't make audio to work.  I'm trying to follow the VLC plugin tutorial but I don't understand it because I'm a noob.  I'm still trying hard right now to find how to fix it.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

On the other hand, is this the only tool available for viewing remote cameras in a computer aside from using a web browser?

I find it actually weird since an Iphone/Android has an app for this.  There are also a lot of 3rd party apps on those devices that can view those Ipcams.  I just find it weird that there are only a handful (if none) of programs/apps on a PC that could make this work.

Thanks again!

The following link provides a threads listing applications from different sources/vendors: IP Applications.
I'd like to update this list with something more current. . . something I do once I find the time.
