Six dcs-1130 cameras are very choppy!
« on: May 08, 2011, 05:39:42 AM »

Hi everyone. I recently bought a dlink dcs1130 camera and it worked great. I added 5 more and now the video is extremely choppy.  It really went to crap after the second one. Drink said to upgrade my router from my g router to an n router. I did. It made no difference at all.

All cams are on a new pc with 6 gig ram, windows 7. Running only dview cam.

I should mention that I am viewing using dview cam. Showing all 6 cameras at the same time.

Any ideas how to speed up my frame rate?  I'm only getting maybe 1 frame per second at 640x480.

You can try reducing the video resolution and image quality through the camera web GUI and see if that helps. Although your computer is new, you may very well be taxing the CPU. Open the Windows Task Manager and look at the Performance tab. What is your CPU usage when all 6 cameras are up and running? If you're at 99%, then your PC is the bottleneck.
