DNS-323 UPNP takes a day to refresh
« on: April 21, 2011, 08:43:11 AM »

I've purchased a DNS-323 and installed 2 2TB WD20EARS, Updated the firmware to 1.10b07 connected to a Netgear WNDR3700 (couldn't get it to work properly with my Belkin). My home cinema didn't like Raid so I have had to format as standard. Currently working ok apart from the UPNP setup which just doesn't want to work properly. I originally tried to work with the root but the system just hung a 0%.  I've managed to get the system to complete the refresh mode but only by taking out all folders and putting the files into a separate folder with no sub folders.  Got a total of 230GB in that. The system does not recognise new files going into the folder and the only way to get them recognised is to manually refresh and that takes hours and hours and hours .... last time was 12 hours ... is this normal?  How can I stop the refresh hanging???

I have no comment on the time as I do not run the UPNP option myself, but there is no reason why your home theatre system would care if the NAS is Raid or not. This should be completely transparent.
