DIR-632 needs constant rebooting
« on: May 02, 2011, 05:42:23 PM »

About twice a week lately I'm having to reboot my router.  All connections don't work.  Logs captured don't show any time stamping so not as helpful as I was hoping but I do have some debug data:

ISP is Comcast with Motorola modem (not that it should matter).  Have 0 - 4 wireless clients connected at any one time, including an Android tablet, Wii, wireless printer and Windows PCs.  Also have 0-4 or so wired connections active including an Ooma Voip device.  A mix of DHCP and static IPs.  Mix of G and N.  I tried disabling Short GI (whatever that does), but again it drops all my connections including wired ethernet.

All lights on router are green, just not able to connect to the internet.  Did not try connecting to the router on one of the connected PCs before resetting.

Help.  This is frustrating.

I would try turning OFF all wireless devices accept for one. Test the G and N connection out. Test with Single mode G and N. Then turn on the next or test the next device alone. Test each device until they have all been tested and see if you notice any thing with the router. Seen some odd issues with newer Droids and such having or causing issues with routers. Let us know how it goes.

What FW is currently loaded on the router?
What hardware version is it?
What Cable modem do you have?
