FTP connection stops working
« on: April 18, 2011, 03:15:40 PM »

I'm having a problem with the FTP on my 323, the connection normally works fine from a remote location, but it will randomly stop working after about a day and I need to reboot the 323 to get the connection to work again. I'm running firmware v1.10 and I believe the 323 is rev C. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried restarting the FTP service only? What do the logs show? What error do you get? What other services are running?

I haven't tried only restarting the ftp service, I'll try that tonight. The ftp log is the only one I check and it seems to work fine (just tells when a use adds or takes a file), I'll check the other log tonight. The error I get is from the connection being timed out, it's essentially acts like the 323 isn't on. I have the bit torrent client, but I disable it when I'm not using it so my hard drive will hibernate. The ftp connection problem has occurred with the BT active and not active.

Also I'll add, while it won't connect through ftp, all other functions work without issue within the network.

Tried restarting ftp service and that did nothing. The service log just has my log ins and log outs. I rebooted the 323 and now everything works again, but will probably have connection problems in a day or two.

1.10 is still in beta. why don't you try a stable version instead?

1.09 and 1.08 both leave the fan running 24/7 regardless of the fan setting. This bugs me more than restarting the system once a day. Hopefully my connection problem is fixed once 1.10 is released.

I'm running the 1.10b7 beta, and having no trouble with the ftp server - have you done a reset to default and reconfigure since your upgrade?

That was it! did a factory reset and I've gone 5 days without a reset. Thank you.
