port for dns

i am trying to access my nas remotely, which port does this run on internally so i know which port to forward on my router?

Depends what you're after:

FTP   -> 20/21; configurable
HTTP -> 80
SMB  -> 137,138,139,445; may be others *



* - Strongly advise against exposing these ports to the Internet.
   - Would be wise to establish a secure VPN session.

can i change the http port as i have my router setup for that port??

i can get to the ftp alright, just want the http

You can ask your router to forward a different port to port 80 of your DNS-323.

thanks everyone, i didn't think it through before i posted, that's exactly what i did, forward a different external port to the internal ip and all is working
