speed of drive access unacceptable
« on: July 09, 2011, 10:23:41 AM »

I'm a new DNS-320 user.  I have access to both the main 4gb (JBOD)drive and the 2gb usb drive.
\\dns320\volume_1 and \\dns320\usbdisk1_1.
To access the highest level contents of volume_1 is slow bur once attained the individual files are ok
To access the highest level contents of usbdisk1_1 is unacceptably slow - I get "not responding", and it could take 10 minutes to display the drive contents, if in fact it ever comes back.
If it does come back, I can access video and audio files.
Have I configured something wrong?  This happens on win 7 as well as xp machines.  Network speed is 1gb.
btw, I also get this in my log file:

Jul 9 14:08:39 CIFS: [192.168.1.111] connected to [USBDisk1_1] as user [nobody].
Jul 9 14:08:39 CIFS: [192.168.1.111] connected to [Volume_1] as user [nobody].
Jul 9 14:08:39 CIFS: Authentication for user [my win7 user id here] has FAILED.

Any ideas would be appreciated ???
