dir-655 and shareport

I just purchased a dir-655 do I have to use shareport for my external hard drive or can i set i up maually?

If your external drive is USB then you need Shareport.  There is also a dedicated Shaereport thread if you have issues.

Sorry for you bought a wrong thing, D-link USB port is only for declaration. It is rubbish and never works. They never fix their shareport and therefore it cannot be used. please raise complaint to police or government consumer council and let your local media know. Never buy D-LINK!!! This is a fruad for putting a not working USB port there to deceive consumer!

You can take a look at the shareport forum for help on shareport. Shareport does work as other have been able to get it working.

There are some size limitations I believe, bigger sized drives don't I think.
