I just purchased the DCL 932L and set it up fine and dandy. I am buggered to get the email notification to work for hotmail
I have tried smtp.live.com, tried port 25 and 587.
I have tried SSL-TLS on and off
I even found some additional server names to try like mx2.hotmail.com.
Need help as this is just not working.
Yes, I had this same issue while setting up my DGL-4500. It doesn't use SSL. I found a work around for my provider, not sure if it will work for yours. A couple steps for prep.
1. Is your email account working? Log into ATT webmail interface and log in. This will also confirm your username and password.
2. Sign into the account your sending too, make sure all spam settings are disabled or atleast to mark only as spam. This can be re-enabled once we confirm the email is sending.
3.
From Email Address: user@bellsouth.net (your ATT email)
To Email Address:any@any.com
SMTP Server Address: smtp.att.yahoo.com
SMTP Server Port:587
Enable Authentication : Checked
Account Name:user@bellsouth.net
Password: <insert password here>
Verify Password: <insert password here>
4. Got to Status > Logs. Make sure the Informational is clicked (so we can see if it worked).Click on email now. Then hit refresh. Watch the process as it tries to send the mail. If it says "SMTP client succeeded sending email" then check your any@any.com email, see if you got it. If it fails, reply with the failure.
