« on: July 20, 2011, 01:23:24 PM »

Dear All

Am having a bit of problem with my DIR-618 ( I know its not in USA ) but I hope you will help me to do this thing .
Am having a bit of problem with my online gaming specially with COD Blackops. I put a fixed IP address for the PS3 in the router : 192.168.10.40
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.10.1

When I log in to > Router Link > Advanced > Firewall and DMZ as you can see in below picture i need a help on how to put the PS3 IP address "192.168.10.40" to pass the firewall and eliminate all my connection issues because every time i tried to put the IP address it gives me an error said " IP range destination is not correct "

this is the screen .

Can take a look at the stickys over in the DGL-4500 forum to help you set up rules.
Gaming and QoS for XBL

Does this router have a QoS rules option?
Let us know if you need more help.

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Use the Setup/networking section to enter in reserved IP addresses for your devices. There should be a Dynamic DHCP Clients section at the bottom. If your devices are on, they will be listed here. There is a Reserve work link on each row. Click on the link and the Add Reservation section above will be filled in with the information you selected. Give it a name so you know what it is. Then click on Add. You've reserved an IP address for your device. It's recommended to do this for ALL device so that they get the same address every time and wont conflict and makes it easier to trouble shoot.
