Guest WiFi?
« on: July 30, 2011, 11:52:34 AM »

I put in a password for the guest WiFi but it seems that i can connect without one.  Is there another setting I'm missing?  how can i protect this WiFi from people out side?

What hardware version do you have? Maybe this is something they added later?

I have A2 running 1.22NA and I can't see that feature anywhere. On the tools page (I assume Tools>ADMIN?) I have a place for Admin Password and User Password, but the user password is for a secondary user to log into the router. Not a second wireless. Am I missing something here? I thought I knew this router pretty well. ::puzzled::

I realize what was going on.  I recently bought the DAP-1525 wifi booster and it has a guest zone which automatically made a dlink_guest.  Since I connected it via WPS I never really checked the settings on it.  So when I saw my dlink_guest pop up I thought i needed to put a password on it from tools > admin.  after going through the settings on the DAP-1525 i put security on the guest wifi.  Sorry for the confusion I just got this booster 2 days ago and I am not to familiar with it yet.

so far so good. I bought the dap-1525 because the dgl-4500 had poor wifi range or maybe penetration compared to my dgl-4300.  I only live in a 1600 sqft town home but the weakest signal i get now is -70 dBm and that's out on my front porch so I'm happy.

How does the 1525 do. Am interested in it's performance and range. Looking at maybe getting one. Keep us posted.
