can't mount dns 321 to mac os x 10.6 Snow leopard
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:30:19 AM »

I am not able to mount the DNS 321.  I am able to configure it as a network drive.  I tried the direct method of mounting  "go/connect to server" and the procedures @ the faq site neither worked.    I am using firmware 1.03..  any suggestions  thank you in advance

Have you tried: smb://ip address?

I'm not sure what procedures are outlined in the FAQ.

Yes I have. tried smba://ip address.  This is the faq procedure I am referencing
http://www.dlink.com/products/default.aspx?pid=DNS-321&tab=3  I see the problem was addressed in the dns 323 forum also and a change of firware corrected the problem.

I'm experiencing the same issue using 10.6.2.  Apple blames the D-Link 321, D-Link blames the Apple OSX.  I'm suspecting that it's a 321 firmware problem.  Has there been any progress on fixing this, that anyone knows of?

UPDATE: the smb:// solution worked once I had the right Time Capsule assigned ip address.  I'm guessing this is the workaround to use until the firmware is updated.

OK so this is a reply to everyone who had an issue remounting your D-link device to a mac...
remember its a network server, and sometimes you need to call on that server.

So on you Mac desk top Menu, your going to click on GO
scroll down to were it says, Connect to Server. A window pops up. You enter the server address
to the left of the text field is an add( + ) button, click on it, to add the address to your Favorite Servers: table list. and then click connect. The 2 Volumes on the DNS-321 should pop up on your desktop.

For those of you, who shut down computers after each use, you might need to do this, every time you boot up.
