Question. I just went through a wierd funk with my new DIR-825. It was working great dual band out of the box until yesterday. The "wireless" light on the front would blink on and off (about 5-7 seconds on, then the same time off). At the same time my computer would connect and disconnect with the router (in sync with the wireless light blinking). I pretty much had to go back to the basics to get my router back up. Flashed the new 1.01 firmware and reset to factory settings (and then rebuilt my regular settings). My question is what should the channel settings and freqs be for the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks? I have them set on 20 MHz and 40 MHz only respectively. I am pretty sure that they were originally set to Auto (on both) when I had the network up before it went wacky on me. I also noticed that while the wireless was cycling for hours that the channels were changing as were the freqs (both would go to 20 MHz and then both would go to 40 MHz). Was the router trying to find a clear band to transmit on? I was watching this while hard-wired to the router and on the status page. Any ideas? I have noticed that since I have changed the settings (instead of Auto), that my connection speed is slower. I used to have between 270 to 300 Mbps almost constantly, and now I have half that with ocassional spikes to 270-300.
