DNS-323 "Invisible" Folders and Files (e2fsck Help Needed)
« on: August 04, 2011, 10:54:51 PM »

I'm running Firmware 1.09 and was going through my RAID 1 today cleaning out some trash, and while deleting files, all files within the folder I was working on vanished! Later, while trying to clean out another folder, I hit delete, and the folder remained... the files inside appear gone, but when I make new files inside they also vanish, but can be found by typing in their exact name.

I tried running a Scandisk, and while it came back successful, it didn't solve the problem. I eventually searched for the other folder that was missing, and found it too could be accessed through the command prompt, but the GUI displayed it as invisible.

I *think* I properly installed funplug by dropping the .tar and the funplug file onto the device. I can telnet into it, and attempted to follow the instructions here http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fsck/ , but my system didn't seem to make an fsck folder and ./reload.sh doesn't do anything.

I'm looking for some help that is clear on how to get my drives unmounted, and safe, so that I can run e2fsck and fix the issue.

tl;dr
Need up-to-date e2fsck instructions for DNS-323 1.09 for a person who's not particularly linux-comfortable.

Solved my own problem.

I didn't realize the trailing period in the command "rsync -av --delete inreto.de::dns323/fsck ." was required. I threw that in, and it created the appropriate folders and now things seem to be rolling.
