Samsung 2TB F4 only formatted to 1TB?
« on: August 05, 2011, 10:30:52 PM »

Hi all,

I've just setup my DNS-320 with two Samsung 2TB F4.

Both drives have been flashed with the firmware patch from Samsung.

Then I installed the DNS-320 with one drive in left slot. It correctly detected it to have 2TB and formatted it so.

Then later when I plugged in the second on in the right slot, it for some reason can only detect it to be a 1TB drive. Any idea what went wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it turns out that this new drive had partitions on it... two 500 GB and one 1TB...

Hmm... go figure.

Not a new drive then. Probably a returned drive that had issues from a the first firmware and Samsung updated it and sent it back out.
