Extend the range of my DGL-4500?
« on: August 27, 2011, 06:45:09 PM »

Guys, I have my DGL-4500 in my home office, and the signal is way too weak in the far end of the house, and in the backyard its completely useless. I would like to extend the range, but I have no idea where to start. I searched, and saw people suggesting repeaters, access points, second routers, etc.

I would like to know what is my best option. I don't want to spend too much money - $150 is my limit, but I also would like to do it right. First of all, it is necessary for extended range to support 802.11n, just like the primary router. Also, I would like the extended range to be "seamless" - in other words, I don't want to switch between networks as I move around the house with laptop/ipad/other devices. I'd like to have the same SSID extended across the house.

Any help and advice is appreciated.
