Cannot delete a specific folder on my 323, access denied.

Hello all, I am having an issue with some sort of permissions for a specific folder.
I have a folder named Data on my NAS that has 3 users connected to it.
Everyone
nobody (Unix User\nobody)
501 (Unix Group\501)
This is the folder I cannot delete.

If I make a new folder I get these users:
Everyone
514 (Unix Group\514)
Linux User... (Xavier\lordmagneto)

I can delete the new folder without any issues. The Data folder I cannot delete for the life of me. How do I fix this without having to reformat my drives just to delete this folder that is 100% empty. I have my NAS to allow everyone without passwords and all have R/W abilities. Thanks!

this problem happens to me too, D-link should fix this debug 3 years ago. they shouldn't let this problem untill now. better other brand if they ain't gonna fix it.

1. Change your user password to blank.
2. delete the offending folder
3. restore your password

The folder in question belongs to "anonymous" (nobody) so you need to log on as such to delete it.

Hopefully that will do the trick

Thanks for the reply Jack, but I tried that, went into my Windows 7 user area, changed my password to blank, went back to my 323 and still no go. I tried changing my passwords on my user accounts on my 323 to blank but it will not let you have a username without a password. So I am still stumped. I will just have to transfer my 3 TB off this drive, format, and re-transfer the data back on to it. What a pain in my booty!  :'(

I meant the password on the NAS, not the W7 password.

I don't have a 323 at this location so I can't try it again but I had the same problem on a 320 so it might be common to all.

What version of firmware prevents the use of blank passwords?

Why not just remove all users and groups?  This way the DNS is free to access by anyone on the network and you should be able to delete the folder.

After deleting you can redefine the users and groups.

@jack, I am running Firmware Version :  1.08 :Firmware Date :  12/18/2009.
@newbie06, I only use users for my FTP options when they access from outside my network. My internal network settings are set to ALL and does not require a password at all to access the device. But for testing sake, I did delete all the users, and tried again to delete the undeletable folder. Still no go. It seems that the folder's properties only have a checkmark under special properties area where all other normal folders have all checkmarks on all options for permissions. It's weird, because I CAN even rename the folder without issues, just can't delete it.
