DNS-323 behind Netgear WNDR4500 no admin via browser?
« on: March 01, 2012, 07:53:30 AM »

I've changed my router from a Linksys to the above Netgear. I can see the DNS on the network an access the volumes but when I try to use the browser admin page I get the error message on any web browser,
"No data received
Unable to load the web page because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data."

I turned off my local firewall on the laptop I'm trying to access through to see if that was but that doesn't seem to allow me in either.
The Internet light LED is flushing on the DNS and I can ping it so I guess it doesn't like the new router but I don't know how to fix this?

Any help much appreciated please :)

PS. just tried to use "DNS-323_C1_FW_v1.08_Easysearch_v4.7.0.0" after adding access via the firewall But Easy Search doesn't see the DNS, could it be faulty?

Hi,
There are moderators who often seem most active on Weekdays vs.
Weekends, but they all make it clear that they are in no way Dlink employees.  We are told that Dlink does also monitor the forums but rarely is there any "offical" response to anything.  Mostly the forum is supported by users.  Having said this, I think the problem you are having is mostly a Netgear WNDR4500 issue and I don't know what portion of the universe of 323 users share the use of the Netgear WNDR4500 but my guess is that is not a very large group and of those, even a much tinyer group, might be having the same problem.  So, the odds are not in your favor here.  As you are suspecting, I would be looking to Netgear Support, or Netgear forums for an answer to your problem.  I am sorry I am not able to offer you a solution, but by all means, extend your search.  Good luck

thanks cable2 for your reply, I was beginning to think that "BETA" in this forum title meant that I was on the wrong website.  :D
I did see a similar thread here with the DNS-323 behind a different Netgear 1000 router but unfortunately the suggestions there didn't work for me  :'(.
I'll post here if I get a solution which is dlink  Netgear related for any future users with the same problem.

Regards

having thought about it a little more the error message is more specifically a dlink issue so I'm going to close this thread down and open a new thread entitled "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)"  and see what responses I get from that thread.

"No data received
Unable to load the web page because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data."

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS THREAD ANY MORE.
