Nevermind, of course you were. To change your IP, you have a couple options, and it depends on your ISP. If you have a ISP that gives you a static IP (Verizon DSL?) then you need to call them. If not, then you can either change the MAC address on the router, or just unplug the modem for about 24-48 hr. This is because a Dynamic IP has a lease, or a expiration date. If you change the MAC address, the modem thinks your router is a new device and needs to give it a new IP. If you unplug the modem, it frees the lease on the IP, and hopefully someone else gets it within that time frame, so when you power the modem back up, it has to give you a new one.
Either way, they are messy work around. The best way is to get rid of the band to begin with. Or else your just passing the problem along to the next person. Not cool.
