Hi, I have a question regarding the dir-615. Can I have two routers( dir-615) in the same network? with the same name(SSID) and same password? on both routers?
maybe I should explain, I have a firewall router(non dlink) and I have one dlink dir-615 connected to the firewall to give wireless service to one end of the building(already working), and I would like to add a second dir-615 to give wireless service to the other side of the building and I would like to use the same name(SSID) and the same password to access the internet, so users won't have to be asking again for the password. Is this posible?
Any suggestions and help it will be greatly appreciated.

You can put 2 routers together however the wireless will have 2 different SSIDs as these routers can't be bridged in a way to extend or relay using only one SSID. The DHCP server of the 2nd 615 router would need to be turned off and not used. Connecting the 2 routers together you would use the LAN port of the 2nd router to connect to a LAN port of the 1st router. You don't use the WAN port of the 2nd router at all.

The Router/Firewall  already has one router(dir-615) working with the DHCP turned off.

I would like to add a second router (dir-615) with the same settings as the first router(DHCP turned off, same SSID, same password, etc) connected to the router/firewall.

Both routers (dir-615) connected to the Router/Firewall to different ports.(example: router1 connected to port1, router2 connected to port2) router1 will cover one end of the building, router2 will cover the opposite end of the building.

The Router/Firewall is the one with the DHCP enabled.

Is this posible? if not, how can I solve the signal problem in the building?

I would like to use both routers(DIR-615).

What might happen if I have same SSIDs in both routers?

You can't use 2 of the same routers and use the same SSID. Doesn't work. The 2nd router will need to have a different SSID.

These routers are meant as a stand alone dedicated router for only one router for one network. If you need to extend or relay WiFi, it's recommended you get a wifi booster to attach to the 615 and then this will extend and relay the one SSID coming from the 615 WiFi. Or use the 2nd 615 as an AP and give it a different SSID name for the wireless.

I have tried hooking the 615 to a Verizon FIOS router using D-Links instructions and it doesn't work. I have a thread on it already.

Furrynutz, So are you saying just to disable the DHCP on the 615 and that's it?

I've tried that over 100 times and it does not work for me. Guess I will just have to cancel my Verizon FIOS so I can get a cable company and just use my own router.

Does the FIOS modem have a DMZ by chance?

Demilitarized Zone. it's like a pass thru on routers, any thing you put in this DMZ, will not be processed by the modem or router.

Well I tried disabling the DHCP and I can get fast internet but still can't log into the router. Guess I can't log in because I disabled the DHCP. If I leave the DHCP Enabled I can log in.

Yes, disabling DHCP disables the web page for the router until you do a factory reset.

I followed Dlinks instructions step by step many times and it does not work. So I am stuck with the FIOS router and I have 3 of my own routers just collecting dust. I'm moving in 4 months to Florida and going with Bright house and using my own router. They don't have the speed that FIOS has but at least I can use my own router. Thanks for your help FN.

Understand man, sometimes the FIOS and using external routers can be frustrating. Again, see if the FIOS has a DMZ, ask the ISP about this. IF not then I guess you'll have to wait till you move. Keep us posted.
